Pre-Kindergarten Program: Children Age 5
This center-based program is designed to foster independence. Each center provides opportunities to develop a particular skills set, including art, discovery, math, communication, and snack. Preschoolers are exposed to and encouraged to explore a variety of concepts in an environment that promotes choices. Nurturing the child's belief in their personal capabilities is a key component. There is a strong emphasis on promoting self-help skills and problem solving in all the aspects of the day. Listening, communicating, negotiating, sharing, respecting and empathizing are interpersonal skills that are strongly encouraged. Concepts, introduced at morning meetings, are taught to the children through the use of themes such as Fire Safety, Insects, The Five Senses, and the Solar System.
Offered: Five-day program, Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM-11:45 AM. This pre-kindergarten class is designed for children who are ready for the additional challenge of a 5 day program. Wrap around care and specialty add on courses are available.
